I don't read every blog to which I subscribe.
Sometimes a writer has a beautifully crafted witty post, followed by clunker after clunker. Sometimes a writer has a beautifully crafted witty post, followed by months of silence. Maybe I started following the blog because the author stated a well-versed opinion or relayed a humorous anecdote in someone else's blog comments. In some cases, I just started following because I thought Lori would enjoy it, and because I don't remember they're there, I never bothered to show them to her.
I just deleted three more, and the list is down to 40 blogs. Forty. The big four-oh. That still seems like way too much to keep up with. I am bleary-eyed and my brain hurts trying to remember even what many of the blogs are about.
But I'm sure I didn't delete your blog. I like you, I really like you. If you post regularly, and I get much enjoyment from what you post, I'm sure I'm reading everything you put out there.
Really.

If you deleted me I would cry myself to sleep on my gargantuan pillah! Seriously. Don't delete me - I'm fragile (that must be Italian) and full of awesome movie quotes... just not the same movie quotes that you use or else I'd be better at your quizzes. :D
I read most of the blogs I follow, even the ones I *cough* don't particularly enjoy *cough*. I don't always comment though, and frankly sometimes all I read is the little blurb in my Blogger dashboard preview window. If the first few sentences intrigue me, I'll click over and read the rest. If not... well, not.
No worries, there. I'm still working my way up the comment list. Perhaps if I hit number 1 again, I'll win a major award?
Wait a minute...did I just now get that you don't particularly enjoy my blog?
(Something said...not good...what was it? Don't pick on Elliott? No, that's okay...Wait!)
I'm the same way, except I feel rude "unfollowing" somebody. So I just don't read them. Or do what Bev does. And for some stupid reason, certain blogs make me lose my internet connection so I have to avoid those unless I make the trek to the basement computer. And since we all know how lazy I am, that happens rarely.
Heck no! I truly enjoy this blog, Elliott. If I didn't, would I be YOUR #1 commenter? I think NOT, my friend! I think NOT.
Good luck working your way back up to my number one spot (that's what she said!). It's difficult business because Outdoor Wedding Venues likes to gum up the works. *sigh*
Did you delete me? I know I've had some clunkers recetnly but I promise to try to do better- but not today, b/c I'm busy and I'm feeling very sorry for myself, so that would amount to a REAL clunker...I've lost my train of thought...what were we talking about?
p.s. nice Christmas Story reference Bevvers!
None of my regular commmenters need worry, in fact I think none of my subscribers need worry. There are, of course, a few stalkers that I know are there, but I can't say whether or not I read their blogs because I DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE.
No, the ones that went away are no loss to anyone. And yes, smama, I feel bad 'un-following', so there are a few that I don't read but since I'm one of five or fewer subscribers, I'd feel guilty. If you're worried, you can go to my profile page and see if you're still listed. (again, all of you are still there).
I do the same shit and don't blame you one bit if you delete me because lets face it - my posts lately have SUCKED!!!!!
Oh man, I know exactly what you mean. I follow a bit over 100 blogs in my RSS reader, and I read and comment as much as possible, but every once in a while I have to reconcile myself with the fact that: 1) the person posts too much or not enough; or 2) their posts just don't improve my day.
Although I've got to admit, on days when I'm facing a backlog of 200+ entries, the one other thing that tempts me to skip over an entry -- even of a blog I really like -- is when the blog is set so that only a snippet shows up in my google reader, instead of the full entry. (Your blog does this! Hint hint!)
TKOG - just for you, I tracked down that setting. I never knew what that did before, I probably never even touched the tab.
Yay, me!
