Random Acts of Thursday - One of these things, Alice!

I loved Sesame Street as a kid. The mix of live action and taped films, all of them three minutes or less, worked with my attention span.
Actually, it still does. What am I saying?

Anyhow, time to play 'One of These Things Is Not Like the Others'. Because one of these things just might not belong. But for the most part, the groups of films or actors listed below have at least one thing in common, and one of the items is just slightly different. Identify the commonality between them all, and then tell us which item should be removed to add a level of commonality between the remaining four. We're not about self-esteem, so there are wrong answers, but at least you can rest assured that there could be more than one correct answer.

Group 1:

Roger Ward – Young Einstein (1988)

AndrĂ© RenĂ© Roussimoff – The Princess Bride (1987)

James George Janos – Predator (1987)

Terry Bollea – Rocky III (1982)

Laurence Tureaud – D.C. Cab (1983)

***

Group 2:

Cool World (1992)

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964)

Kill Bill, Vol 1 (2003)

Space Jam (1996)

***

Group 3:

Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000)

The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)

I Am Legend (2007)

Never Say Never Again (1983)

***

Group 4:

Mad Max (1979)

Yojimbo (1961)

Fistful of Dollars (Per un pugno di dollari) (1964)

Old Boy (2003)

Wild at Heart (1989)

***

Time to update that Netflix list, don't you think? Bonus question, three of these groups contain films I've never seen, believe it or not. Identify the groups. Bonus bonus, if you can identify the films themselves. Also, hint for you, 10% of the clues above relate to Monday's quote.

Is it any wonder I removed the 'Nerd' tag from use?

Ack! What a day for me to check in - I'm still hoping to see those new Lord of the Ring movies...

(Clearly I need to get out more.)

I got nothin' and am too tired and hopped up on vicodin to even try to answer the quizzie-poo, but has that ever stopped me from commenting? Hellz no, bro!

HI ELLIOTT! :)

*muah*

PS) Meds make me friendly. Ok, friendlier.

Pearl, I haven't seen any of the LOTR films, nor have I seen Harry Potter.

Bev, glad to see you up and around! Woo, meds! How you doin'?

Seriously.

It saddens me, it does. I figured this puppy would be licked in no time. I didn't think I was being difficult. Challenging, yes. Difficult, no. And impatient. Because I was so excited about this one yesterday.

Oh no..talk about putting a song in my head. Sesame Street...gotta love it! :-)

OK...here we go...

Group 1..Take out Roger Ward. Why...he's the one name I can pronounce. :-)

Group 2...Take out Mr. Limpet. It's the only one made before I was born. :-)

OK, OK...I'll be serious. Does Kill Bill combine animated and live actors like the others? I don't think so...it just has those strange little anime sections. So I guess...let's take Kill Bill out. That's my final answer. :-)

Group 3...Take out I Am Legend. It's the only one that made me cry.

Group 4...Ummmm....I have no clue. All 5 take place in different countries. Three are about lone drifters, 3 have a revenge thing going on, two have divided towns as the locale, 3 are gunfighters, 3 have big name American actors. Darn dude...no clue.

Hmmmm...Mad Max...motorcycles and leather. Is this the quote answer?

Bonus: 1, 2 and 4. Why? Because Group 3 is the only group that I've seen all 5 movies. :-)

Bonus, Bonus: Rocky III, Space Jam, and Old Boy. No reason, just complete and utter guesses.

Group 1.

Remove the first entry (Ward). The rest are only known by stage names. Andre the giant, Jesse Ventura, Hulk Hogan, Mr. T.

Or you could remove Mr. T as the sole minority.

Or you could remove Ward as the remainder are wrestlers or have played one on screen.

Or you could remove the Princess Bride because the rest of the listed movies sucked.

Of course... I'm new on this so you could remove me because I suck at this. Which might be the best option all the way around.

Group 2: Kill Bill... not a cartoon character in it. Of course, that doesn't take the script into account, but...

....and I'm spent...

Nej, SB, you're both on track with #2. While all five films feature both live action and animation, Kill Bill I is the only one where the animated and live action never interact.

SB, Ward was a wrestler, too...

Nej, Bonus, two for three. Bonus bonus, one for three.

I'm so excited! A tad inebriated, too, but mostly excited.
