Last week was a long, pie-filled week, was it not? Even with a pie-themed quote, nobody got it right. I even left hints. Spoilers, if you will. Ah, well, better luck next time, right?
Welcome now to this week's quote! Voici, la quote de la semaine! This one's been on tap for some time, finally decided to use it, easy or not. Maintenant, remember the rules. First person to guess correctly the original source of the quote wins a prize - no movie characters quoting other movies. No Googling or asking Jeeves, either you know the quote or you don't. The prize is a Major Award and consists of the people's ovation and fame forever (and the title of Iron Quote-Guesser):
Motorbikes and leather men stick to me like electric dream
Allez guessing!!!

I've decided that, since I never have any idea who or where these are from, I'm going to start guessing anyway, and hope that it at least is amusing.
So, my initial lame attempt at humor...er...winning this contest...
Pretty Woman.
And finally, someone gets the point! It's as much about the guessing as the being right.
Which, by the way, you're not right.
Well, I haven't been around in awhile but I'm glad to see nothing has changed...I still have no effing clue. Dude, I even googled this shit. Came across some site about assless chaps, but no movie. Ever since I read the quote I've had "Electric Blue" by Icehouse running through my head. Anyone? Alrighty then. Have a super Monday.
Keen.
And, I think you need to go to this guy's blog and offer your consolations.
Or poke the open and seeping wound left by a last-second interception. Your choice.
I don't know but I like it.
Since I'm listening to Sarah Brightman's version of "Nessun Dorma", and being all philosophical and stuff, I'm going to guess "Blade Runner". I have no other reason for it other than I like Phillip K. Dick's story, "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" and it seems like something the reptilian stripper would say when Deckart was questioning her.
Ms, you're close, but no seegar. Dystopia, dat-topia...same genre, anyway.
Samsmama - you found an assless chaps site and didn't send the link? Love the limited Icehouse I know, and I could see the correlation. Same era, same geographic influence...
Mjenks, open seeping wound has been poked.
Dude! MS stole my comment! I was totally leaning towards Blade Runner... Oh well. Aliens? No wait, Avatar? Howz about Baron Von Munchausen? Beautiful ladies!
Time for my meds...
Calico, totally dig the Terry Gilliam, and Uma was actually still cute when Munchausen was made. Brazil might need to make an appearance this week.
And I'm apologizing right now. I KNOW where this came from and I can't find it anywhere on the web other than this post. Even with added clues.
That doesn't mean I'm giving up on you, you know. Someone could still have seen it on TV yesterday and picked up on it.
Ok, Johnny Mnemonic. Being John Malkovich. Big Fish. My Own Private Idaho.
I figure I have a better chance of winning fame forever if I fire a salvo of guesses.
So far in the wrealm of the wrong:
Pretty Woman
Blade Runner
Aliens
Avatar
The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen
Johnny Mnemonic
Being John Malkovich
Big Fish
My Own Private Idaho
None of the above come close.
I'll also rule out Can't Stop the Music right away. Even though leather men don't cry.
I will say it's a film I've at least mentioned in past posts, if not discussed at some length.
5th Element. If it isn't Keanu Reeves, maybe it's Bruce Willis.
Not Bruce Willis, though Last Man Standing came to mind...
Motorbikes and leather men.....damn, no clue.
Let's see...Pulp Fiction...Tomb Raider...Mission Impossible....Underworld....Birdcage?? :-)
That would be 'no', five times. I'm no fun, I know. Based on the responses I've gotten on past weeks and months of Mondays, I figured I'd have to kick it up a notch.
I'm beginning to think you don't even watch movies, dear readers.
Batman?
Okay, with the pie references, the first thing that came to mind is Twin Peaks - what was the movie called? Fire Walk With Me?
BTW, I drive by this place with some frequency and it always makes me smile:

Now I want cherry pie. Dammit.
Not Batman, in any way, shape or form. But now I have the Bat Dance playing through my head.
Leanne, it's not FWWM, but love the link.
Hint of the day - this quote is a lyric, sung by someone not central to the film...
Weird Science. Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle. Borat. (never saw these movies but since I'm taking random stabs in the dark now...)
Guesses involving movies I DID see...
Mad Max. Waterworld. A Fish Called Wanda.
Was Weird Science dystopian?
But yes, you got it. Just not going to tell you which of the six - well, five...
When will the madness end? Will you ever tell us the answer? Will we be forced to just keep guessing for eternity???
Can we get a genre hint?
I know, I know...two hints in one day. I ask too much. :-)
School of Rock, Airheads, High Fidelity, Good Morning Vietnam, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (heheheh)
Well....that was a timing thing...I swear I didn't guess after someone finally narrowed it down. :-) :-)
Oh, the madness will not end. There will be endless madness. It's a regular madness-palooza around here.
Genre - action/adventure? I've never been much for pigeon-holing.
Pigeon-holing is hard with movies. Not only do you have romances, dramas, thrillers, horror, comedy.....you've also got westerns that are funny, you have thrillers that are love stories....it's quite confusing sometimes. :-)
