Random Acts of Thursday - Home Sweet Home

As (1) we will soon be visited by a Realtor to list our sun-dappled Florida home, and (2) as we are on the quest for temporary-to-permanent housing elsewhere, and (3) as I had you identify many television home-away-from-homes a few weeks back, I thought it only appropriate to show a selection of movie and television homes, places that warmed your heart and mine, no matter what Thomas Wolfe may have said about it. Your job is simply to place the house in its proper setting.

With that in mind, some of these are simpler than others, I'll admit. Two of these are from movies I've never seen start-to-finish, one is from a film I've never seen at all, and the final one should be considered a bonus, since the photograph is modern, but the film is from 63 years ago.

So? Have at it, quizzlings!

6)
7)

9)
10)

12)
Bonus points if you identify both directors who have two films in this list.

More bonus points if you're willing to help me move. Anyone?

Congrats on your move, and good luck!

Great idea for a quiz, but I'm stumped. I will stab at it though:

1. Charlie's Angels
4. I don't know where it is, but I want to go to there.
5. The Haunting of Hill House?
7. The Bates Hotel from Psycho
9. Cabin Fever??

That's all I got, and even those are reaches.

Happy Hour...Somewhere said...

#3...Beethoven
#6...Ferris Bueller
#7...Psycho
#11..Home Alone

What is #4?!!

I hope to move in the next few months, so I'm saving myself for that.

Bev, only #7 is correct.

HH, #3 is wrong, otherwise you're in the lead.

At least five of these shows and films have been discussed in past blog posts. Not that that helps much, just sayin.

So far I have:

1. North by Northwest
6. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
7. Psycho
8. The Goonies
11. Home Alone

Which means I also have both directors with two, John Hughes and Alfred Hitchcock.

Working on the others...

#3 Nightmare on Elm Street

Did I ever tell you that there was a time when Joe and I were considering moving to Brandon, FL?

Best of luck on the move.

Brandon's okay, if you like Florida. If you're still interested, I know someone selling a home here....

Why is #3 so difficult? I will say this - it's the only television show out of the bunch.

Mary, rockin' the answers!

6.5 (I can't give you 'Bond villain' as a complete answer), but well done! I really didn't think Happy Days would be that difficult, but I spent my life looking for that house in Milwaukee...when it's actually in CA.

Be nice and share!
